The family-friendly hotel, formerly known as Bucharest Hotel, was
taken over by the famous Romanian footballer Gica Hagi in 1999.
Considerable investment and a modernisation programme were
undertaken and two years later, on 4 July 2001, a brand new hotel
appeared on the map of Mamaia. The beach hotel, which consists of a
main building and a neighbouring building, is spread over three
floors with a total of 98 rooms, including junior suites, double
rooms, apartments, and a terrace. Guests are welcomed in the lobby
area of this air-conditioned establishment with a 24-hour
reception, safe, cloakroom, currency exchange facility, and lift
access. Further facilities include an Internet connection with
W-LAN access (charges apply), a café, a newspaper stand, a
selection of shops, a hairdressing salon, a bar, a nightclub, a TV
lounge, a restaurant, a breakfast and dining room, and a conference
room. Younger guests may let off steam in the play area, and both
room and laundry services as well as medical assistance round up
the facilities on offer. Those arriving by car may make use of the
car park and garage.
Rooms
The modern and spacious rooms are tastefully appointed and offer
all necessary comforts for both business travellers and
holidaymakers. They all come with an en suite bathroom with
hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, cable TV, an Internet
connection, a minibar, and carpeting. A king-size bed, centrally
regulated air conditioning and heating, a hire safe, and either a
balcony or terrace are also provided in all accommodation units as
standard.
Activities & Sport
The Spa Center IAKI, the largest and best equipped health and spa
centre in the region, offers modern equipment and highly qualified
service. Guests will rediscover a sense of well-being in body,
mind, and spirit, directly supervised by qualified instructors.
Further leisure facilities include a sun terrace, a steam bath, and
a range of spa and massage offerings. Complimentary access to the
swimming pools both inside and outside, the Jacuzzi, the sauna, and
the gym (without instructors) is available to guests. In the
outdoor complex there is a swimming pool with a children's area as
well as a poolside snack bar and sun loungers and parasols laid out
ready for use. Moreover, guests may try water aerobics or tennis,
and there is an entertainment programme for younger guests. Sun
loungers and parasols may also be hired on the beach.
